Specialized Care for a Very Special Person – Your Loved One
We believe the degree of memory loss is an important consideration when planning care.
The goal at The Kensington White Plains is to help each residence live independently as long as they are able. We assist in the process by providing care customized to your loved one’s level of memory loss. It’s care in which we offer assistance where needed, but step back to encourage his or her sense of independence.
In addition to round the clock loving care and support, we also provide relevant clinical services.
This includes an on-site Physician’s Office during regular business hours with over a dozen physicians and specialists coming to The Kensington for the convenience of our residents. In addition, we have a full-time Director of Nursing, and a Wellness Director, both of whom are Registered Nurses. They coordinate all aspects of our resident’s nursing and medical care. We also have licensed nurses on-site 24 hours a day, and offer Medication Administration as necessary. We have 12 nurses in the building every day, including four registered nurses. This includes seven nurses during day hours, and several overnight to assist our residents.
We also handle all the details of coordinating medical care for our residents. We provide concierge services and care coordination for resident’s medical needs. The service schedules appointments with doctors, provides transportation to and from the appointment, and notifies the resident’s family members before and after the appointment. In the event of an emergency hospital visit, a care manager accompanies your loved one to the hospital until family arrives.
When needed, we also provided a continuum of care through our affiliation with HealthPRO Heritage. They provide full-time, on-site, state licensed physical therapists, occupational therapists and speech language pathologists, to help our residents optimize independent living.
You can have the peace of mind and confidence of knowing that your loved one is in capable, professional hands at all times.
We also know the best therapy of all is keeping families close at hand, so we encourage family and friends to visit as often as possible, and to lean on us for support whenever necessary. We know that by sharing caregiving responsibility, families are freer to enjoy the pleasure of time spent together. We even have a Family Services Director with an undergraduate degree in social work and life coach on staff to help residents and their families make the most of their time together.
