Our very own Medical Director here at The Kensington Sierra Madre, Dr. Michael Gurevitch, was recently involved in the design and testing efforts to develop a new high-pressure ventilator tailored to treat coronavirus (COVID-19) patients.
This device, called VITAL (Ventilator Intervention Technology Accessible Locally), was developed by engineers at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) in Southern California in response to the nationwide shortage of ventilators, which treat those with severe symptoms of COVID-19.
